Our Origin Story
Coherent Systems Group was born from a personal transformation.
In 2023, founder Roger Hoffmann took a sabbatical and underwent a profound shift. After three decades of high-pressure executive roles, systems thinking, organizational design, and building ventures that worked and ventures that failed, he arrived at a realization: the pattern holding all of it together was coherence itself. Not efficiency. Not growth. Not optimization. Coherence.
The insight came through lived experience: in the organizations and projects where people thrived, where decisions felt right, where execution flowed, there was alignment. Intent matched structure. Structure enabled action. Action generated insight that fed back into intent. The system was coherent. Conversely, in systems that failed, where people burned out, where decisions felt arbitrary, where execution stalled, there was misalignment.
This observation led Roger to formalize what he'd been intuiting for two decades: Coherence Theory, a framework rooted in first principles, grounded in applied epistemology, and tested against real-world problem spaces. From that formalization came two parallel visions: CSG (a consultancy and venture studio) and Camp Urga (a desert sanctuary and center for the study of Coherence Theory).

Founder & CEO
Roger spent 20+ years in systems design, organizational strategy, and venture building. His background spans product, operations, and client success. He's a systems thinker who believes that joy is the purest signal of coherence and that organizations should be designed to generate it. His transformation in 2023 catalyzed the formalization of Coherence Theory and the founding of CSG.

Co-Founder
Jesus brings decades of operational discipline and pragmatic execution to CSG's ventures. He manages the systems, timelines, and delivery that turn theory into practice.
How CSG Connects to Camp Urga
Camp Urga (a remote 40-acre desert property in Mohave County, AZ) is the physical proving ground for Coherence Theory. It's a long-horizon land stewardship project designed as a living laboratory for coherent systems. While CSG optimizes organizational and technological systems for coherence, Camp Urga optimizes for syntropic agroforestry and bio-diversity. Together, they form a unified vision: coherence applied at every scale, from how an organization decides, to how a team executes, to how humans live in relationship with land and each other.
